About Lauren

Lauren Forney is a Board Certified Holistic Health Counselor and Registered Yoga Teacher based in Red Bank, NJ.  Passionate about healthy eating, Lauren helps others learn to make consistently wise choices regarding their nutrition and overall well-being.  As a Registered Yoga Teacher, she combines this knowledge into her health counseling by providing simple actions people can adapt into their everyday lives.  True health does not just involve one side of the equation; consequently, by combining healthy eating, a positive attitude, and regular exercise, a balanced lifestyle will result.  Lauren is also the corporate wellness director and yoga instructor for Amscan, Inc.  By educating and promoting a culture of health within the workplace, Lauren supports the well-being of over 280 employees. 

Lauren received her Health Counseling Certification at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, is certified by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners, and is registered through the Yoga Alliance, as well. Currently, she counsels with clients to improve their health and happiness. 

A devoted student of Yoga since 1995, Lauren's practice of classic Hatha Yoga and Yoga philosophy led her to become a Registered Yoga Teacher in 2007.  She has a background in Transcendental Meditation, Reiki and Sivananda Yoga.  Lauren uses the discipline of Yoga to promote health and serenity to still the mind and develop consciousness and gratitude. In her classes, Lauren accommodates her students' needs by adjusting poses according to their strengths and abilities.  She continues her study of Yoga and meditation by continually attending classes and workshops in order to bring her students interesting and eclectic experiences that serve the body, mind and spirit. Lauren has traveled to India to study at The Yoga Institute in Bombay, which is the oldest organized center of Yoga in the world. Lauren offers a variety of health seminars, and develops personalized nutrition and/or yoga programs with private clients, small groups, and corporations.

Lauren is also the co-owner of 3 Healthy Chicks, LLC.  3 Healthy Chicks provide holistic health counseling, yoga, health and nutrition workshops.  They offer simple tips for improving health, mind and body.  Their focus is on promoting local, sustainable, fresh foods and wellness opportunities.  In addition to the overall health counseling that they provide, each 'healthy chick' concentrates on particulars areas of interest; Jill Rizzi works with auto immune disorders, Terra Pfund works with preconception, fertility, prenatal and post natal women and Lauren counsels those with busy schedules, stress and/or digestive issues.

I first met Lauren when she came to our company to do a Lunch & Learn session about nutrition.  The main reason that I decided to work one-on-one with Lauren is because her program is holistic.  It didn’t just teach me how to eat better but incorporated food/nutrition, career, relationships, spiritual awareness, and physical activity.  This combination made sense to me.  We met via the phone twice a month for sixmonths but she was always available when I had a question outside of our scheduled  time.  One of our sessions even included a one-on-one yoga activity.  Lauren provided me with many tools, including a work book, a journal, a cook book, DVDs, etc.  I learned so much during this time and found Lauren to be very knowledgeable and her approach to be fun, supportive, and non-judgmental.  I would highly recommend her for a company seminar or as a one-on-one coach.     -Linda L.
